Parent’s Night is March 21, 2013
Parent’s Night will be Thursday, March 21 from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm. This is a time for your children to show off what they have been doing in the classroom. See you then!!
Emergency Announcement – Two Hour Delay on March 7, 2013
Fairfax County Public Schools are opening two hours late for Thursday, March 7. THE SPRINGS follows Fairfax County Public Schools for all closings and delays and will also be opening two hours late on Thursday, March 7.
The Springs Plans to Open Oct. 31
Although some Fairfax County Public Schools may be closed due to a lack of power, The Springs has power and plans to open on time.
Parent’s Night
Parent’s Night will be Thursday, March 22 from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm. This is a time for your children to show off what they have been doing in the classroom. See you then!!
Back to School Night, 7 pm
Thursday, September 20, is Back to School Night from 7:00 pm-8:00pm. This is an evening intended to provide you with the necessary information to help your child succeed in school. You will meet in your child’s classroom with his or her teachers, learn about classroom policies and have the opportunity to ask general questions.
This is not a time to confer with the teacher about issues specific to your child. Back to School Night is for adults only. Please do not bring your student or any siblings. Families arriving with children will be asked to keep children outside with a parent. Springs staff must participate in Back to School Night and will not be available to watch children.
Spring Concert @ 10 am
The Spring Concert will be held on the last day of school, Friday, June 1 at 10:00 am. Please note this day is also a Noon Dismissal for all children. Springfield Christian Church has been kind enough to allow us the use of their Sanctuary again this year. Seating will begin in the Sanctuary at 9:30 am and is first come, first serve. Seats may not be reserved before 9:30 am due to church activities. All family members are welcome.
The entire program will be professionally video recorded and DVD s of the show will be available for purchase for $12.00. Order forms have been sent home. Please complete the form and return it to the school office with payment made out to The Springs by May 29, 2012. Please keep in mind that no other photography will be allowed during the performance.
THE SPRINGS Annual Parents’ Night
Join us on Thursday, March 24, for THE SPRINGS’ Annual Parents’ Night. Children are invited to bring their parents to school and to teach them some of their favorite lessons! There are two sessions for Parents’ Night. Session One is 6:30-7:15pm and Session Two is 7:15-8:00pm. Families will receive a session assignment from their child’s teacher.
Please understand that space will be very limited in the classrooms with children and parents present. Therefore, we ask that you adhere to your assigned session time and please do not bring siblings or extended family members. Parents’ Night is a special night to celebrate your SPRINGS’ student and his or her accomplishments. We look forward to seeing you at Parents’ Night!
Valentine’s Day
All of the classes will be celebrating Valentine’s Day and children are welcome to bring in valentines for their classmates. Children should not address their valentines so children who may not be reading yet are able to pass out their own cards. Please send cards only. No candy or toys. Happy Valentine’s Day!
Emergency Announcement-School Closing @ 4 pm
Fairfax County Public Schools will be closing two hours early today, January 25, due to inclement weather. THE SPRINGS will close at 4:00 pm. Please notify the office if someone different will be picking up your child.
All children must be picked up promptly by 4:00 pm. Regular late fees will apply.
Kindergarten Info Session, 4pm
If you are a parent of a rising Kindergarten, please join us on Monday at 4 pm for an information session about the importance of the Montessori Kindergarten year. All four Montessori teachers as well as Ms. Maureen will available to answer questions.
This event for enrolled families only! If you are a prospective parent interested in THE SPRINGS’ Kindergarten Program, please call the school office at 703-941-1411 for more information. Please keep in mind that children transferring to THE SPRINGS for Kindergarten must have completed at least one year of Montessori preschool in another Montessori program. Thank you!
